Al Cossar is a screen culture professional based in Melbourne. He is Artistic Director of the Melbourne International Film Festival, where he has also worked in roles as Programmer, Acting Artistic Director and Associate Artistic Director since 2011. Previously he was Program Director for the Portable Film Festival, a founding programmer, and subsequent Board Member for the Human Rights Arts and Film Festival, and Festival Manager for Flickerfest, and has contributed to numerous other screen events; he was also previously a television film critic for ABC News Breakfast.
