Dr. Greg Dolgopolov is an academic, festival director, and filmmaker. As a Senior Lecturer in Film Studies at the University of New South Wales, he specialises in video production, film festivals and film theory.
Dolgopolov's influence extends beyond academia through his work as a festival director. He serves as the artistic director for several notable film festivals, including the Vision Splendid Outback Film Festival (since 2013), the Short+Sweet Film Festival (since 2017), The Inner West Film Fest (since 2023), the Sydney Paddling Film Festival and the curator of the Russian Resurrection Film Festival (since 2008). These roles allow him to champion Australian cinema while also promoting international and genre films.
As a filmmaker, Dolgopolov has produced several short films, including "The Dam" and "Banshees Ridge" and the documentary series, "Citizens at War" about the war in Ukraine (2023).
