Gretchen Peterson
Gretchen Peterson is an Emmy Award-nominated editor originally from Wellington, New Zealand. Currently based in Sydney, Australia, Gretchen has built an impressive 20+ year career working on projects across Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand, London, and Los Angeles, specialising in feature documentaries and television.
Gretchen has edited over 20 long-form projects across drama and non-fiction for both film and television. Recent highlights include the feature documentary Midnight Oil: The Hardest Line, written and directed by Paul Clarke, which premiered as the Opening Night Film at the 2024 Sydney Film Festival and is nominated for AACTA Awards in several categories including Best Editing - Documentary. Another standout project is the psychological thriller The Rule of Jenny Pen, starring Geoffrey Rush and John Lithgow. The film has gained significant acclaim, including praise from horror icon Stephen King, who tweeted: "I watched one of the best movies I’ve seen this year. It’s called The Rule of Jenny Pen…."
Gretchen edited two episodes of the crime drama Black Snow (Season 2), released on Stan in early 2025.
