Kate Mulvany

Kate Mulvany OAM is an internationally award-winning actor, playwright and screenwriter. In 2020, Kate was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia for her contribution to the Australian arts. She also has an Honorary Doctor of Letters from Curtin University. As a screenwriter, Kate wrote several episodes of the Emmy-winning animated series Beat Bugs for Netflix, was co-developer and writer on the acclaimed series Upright for Foxtel, and writer on Summer Love for ABC. 


Her award-winning plays include adaptations of The Harp in the South, Playing Beatie Bow, Medea, Mary Stuart and Jasper Jones, along with her lauded autobiographical work The Seed.

Kate is a lead actor on the Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated series Hunters for Amazon Prime, opposite Al Pacino. She also starred in the acclaimed Foxtel series The Twelve for which she was nominated for a Best Actress AACTA and a Logie Award. Kate also stars in the Disney Plus series The Clearing and in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis. In 2024,  Kate starred in the feature film Better Man, by writer and director Michael Gracey, and in How to Make Gravy, directed by Nick Waterman.
