Loani Arman
Loani Arman is a Screen Executive and Writer with over 20 years of experience in the Australian screen industry. Most recently, she was the Scripted Commissioning Editor for SBS, working across the development and production of the network’s original scripted programming. Her credits include Safe Home, Erotic Stories, While the Men Are Away, Swift Street, and Four Years Later. Loani was also an Executive Producer across SBS’ short-form drama and features slate, including the AACTA Award-winning series Latecomers and Appetite, which premiered at Canneseries.
Prior to SBS, Loani was a Content Director at Screen Queensland, where she led development programs and talent initiatives. She has also been a Drama Associate for Showtime Australia, working across nearly 60 hours of original drama for the Showcase channel, including Cloudstreet, Tangle, and Satisfaction.
As a creative, Loani’s documentary series My Body Says was commissioned by ABC in 2020 and won the inaugural AIDC Best Short Form Award. In 2019, Loani was the winner of the AACTA Pitch Competition with Our Greatest Escape and was selected for the Australians in Film ‘Charlie’s Lab’ in Los Angeles to develop her series, The Mother Load. Loani is a frequent contributor to writers' rooms with some of Australia’s leading production companies and currently has a feature in development, as well as an eight-part drama series.
