Paul Ireland was born and raised in Scotland. He trained as an actor at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and has worked in film, theatre, and television for over 30 years. His diverse acting career includes a wide range of performances across both Comedy and drama.

Paul has written, produced, and directed two highly acclaimed feature films: the award-winning Pawno and Measure for Measure, which together garnered 12 AACTA nominations and other accolades.

His third feature film, Lily, will be produced later this year. It’s a love story that explores the connection between an ageing alcoholic actor and a young artist with mental health issues, offering a humorous yet heartfelt tale of love, hope, and redemption.

Paul is also developing Mayfly, a six-hour slow-burn suspense thriller blending dark humor with an Australian crime noir atmosphere. Set in the Snowy Mountains, Mayfly unfolds across two timelines—the 1970s and the present—exploring the collision of past and present in a small community ,that has many hidden secrets  revealing buried truths and a gripping mystery inspired by true events.

Additionally, Paul has recently written a TV series pilot for Roadshow Films, further expanding his work in television.
