Rhianna Patrick
Rhianna Patrick is a freelance Torres Strait Islander journalist, writer, broadcaster and audio content creator with almost three decades of media experience. Her work has appeared in Meanjin, IndigenousX, Rotten Tomatoes, Guardian Australia, Kill Your Darlings, Liquid Architecture, and NME Australia. Rhianna’s audio work has featured in The Conversation Weekly podcast, U.S podcast, The Stoop, and across ABC local radio and Radio National. She won an Australian Podcast Award for ‘Hi, I’m Eddie’, a podcast series commissioned by the State Library of Queensland on Land Rights campaigner, Eddie Mabo. Rhianna’s work has also been broadcast on the ABC TV’s Indigenous documentary program, Message Stick, where she worked as a researcher and associate producer. In 2024, she had an essay published in the University of Queensland Press Anthology ‘Shapeshifting’. Rhianna also co-curated a major Torres Strait Islander exhibition, Island Futures, for the Queensland Museum and is the curator of Spotify Australia’s ‘Original Storytellers’ playlist.
