Engage in conversations about the journey, challenges, and triumphs of bringing Better Man to the screen. Join us at this headline event and be among the first to witness a new chapter in Australian movie history!

Michael Gracey (left)

With an exceptional background in VFX and a fluency in music production, Gracey has consistently brought a fresh - often viral - approach to his projects that seizes the audience’s imagination. He credits this specific combination to an early exposure to musical theatre at home and a gap year spent working at Animal Logic. As the youngest animator at the company, Michael has always been on the pulse of emerging technology and their potential influence on the creative industry.

Most notably, Michael Gracey made his feature film debut in 2017 with worldwide success, The Greatest Showman starring, Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron and Zendaya. He followed this great achievement as executive producer on Elton John’s biopic Rocketman. He now returns with his sophomore film, Better Man - a fantastical approach on the life of Robbie Williams.

Paul Currie (right)

Paul Currie’s extensive entertainment industry experience includes producing and directing numerous feature films and TV series. Early in his career Paul won the Screen Director’s Association Award of Australia for directing and producing the film, One Perfect Day. He directed the ABC TV series Twenty-Something, two acclaimed documentaries, Lionheart: The Jesse Martin Story and Every Heart Beats True: The Jim Stynes Story, the feature film 2:22, and live action sequences in the feature film Lego: Ninjago and the action sequence on top of Sydney Opera House on Bleeding Steel.

Paul served as producer on Mel Gibson's Academy Award winning film, Hacksaw Ridge, as well as on feature films 2:22, David Attenborough’s Great Barrier Reef, The Longest Shot and Under the Gun. He executive produced Rampart starring Woody Harrelson and Max Rose starring Jerry Lewis. More recently Paul produced Blacklight starring Liam Neelson and Ricky Stanicky staring Zac Efron and John Cena. He also provided Australian production services on The King’s Daughter starring Pierce Brosnan and Bleeding Steel staring Jackie Chan.
