This is your chance to meet the some of the directors nominated for the 2024 AACTA Awards. At this intimate event, the directors will share their personal insights into directing this year's nominated films, television shows and documentaries. A unique opportunity to hear from the best of the craft in the last 12 months.

Glendyn Ivin

Working across feature films, television and commercials, Glendyn first gained recognition with his short film CRACKER BAG, which won the Palme d'Or for Best Short Film at the Cannes Film Festival in 2003. Glendyn’s critically acclaimed and award-winning work includes feature films LAST RIDE, starring Hugo Weaving, and PENGUIN BLOOM, starring Naomi Watts, and prestige television series PUBERTY BLUES, THE BEAUTIFUL LIE starring Sarah Snook, THE SEVEN TYPES OF AMBIGUITY, International Emmy Award winner SAFE HARBOUR, THE CRY and most recently, THE LOST FLOWERS OF ALACE HART starring Sigourney Weaver.

Kitty Green

Kitty Green is an award-winning Australian filmmaker. Her first narrative feature The Assistant premiered at the Telluride Film Festival in 2019 and screened at Sundance and Berlin Film Festival in 2020 before being released theatrically in the USA. It was nominated for best independent film at The Gotham Awards in 2021 and received multiple nominations at the Independent Spirit Awards later that year.

Born in Australia, Kitty studied filmmaking at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne. After graduating film school, Kitty worked as an editor and producer for the ABC. In 2012, Kitty spent a year in her mother’s native Ukraine shooting with the protest movement ‘Femen’. Kitty’s first feature documentary, Ukraine Is Not a Brothel premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2013 and screened at over 50 festivals internationally. In 2015, Kitty’s documentary short, The Face of Ukraine: Casting Oksana Baiul premiered at Sundance and won the Jury Prize. Kitty’s hybrid feature Casting JonBenet premiered at Sundance and Berlin Film Festival in 2017 and was picked up by Netflix as a Netflix Original. In 2018, Kitty was a Sundance Fellow in the ‘Art of Nonfiction' initiative.

Danny & Michael Philippou

Danny and Michael Philippou, best known as online global sensations RACKARACKA, with more than 1.5 billion views on YouTube. Named one of Variety’s 2016 FameChangers and ranked 5th on the Australian Financial Review’s Cultural Power List, the brothers are the creators of action comic horror online content, which has racked up more than 1.5 billion views and over 6.6 million subscribers on Youtube alone. Their numerous awards include Best Integrational Channel Streamy Award; Best Overall at the Online Video Awards; and AACTA Award for Best Online Video or Series. TALK TO ME is their debut feature film.
